Braxton Miller took a break from his NFL preparation Monday night.

The former Ohio State quarterback and wide receiver was a guest of the Cincinnati Reds and threw out the first pitch ahead of the Reds’ game against the Colorado Rockies.

Miller, with his 3-year-old son Landon by his side, delivered a strike to Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips.

Wearing a signed Pete Rose jersey, Miller warmed up with outfielder Billy Hamilton before heading to the mound.

Landon had fun with Mr. Red, too.

Miller put up huge numbers as a quarterback in his first three seasons with the Buckeyes, but transitioned to wideout after a shoulder injury and the emergence of OSU quarterbacks J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones.

Miller recognized that he was better suited as a wide receiver at the next level and put up solid numbers – 26 catches for 341 yards and three scores – in his first year playing the position.
